- Gluepot Reserve, South Australia - Black-Eared Miner, Mallee, Red-Lored Whistler, Scarlet-Chested Parrot, Striated Grasswren
- Kakadu, Northern Territory - One of the most popular locations for birdwatching in Australia, the Kakadu offers large floodplains that feature many different types of water birds. See Banded Fruit-Dove, Chestnut-Quilled Rock Pidgeon, Sandstone Shrikethrush, White-lined Honeyeater
- Kutini-Payamu Iron Range National Park, Queensland - One of the last remaining lowland rainforests in all of Australia. Chestnut Breasted Cuckoo, Eclectus & Red-Cheeked, Parrots, Magnificent Riflebirds, Trumpet Manucodes, White-Faced Robins, Yellow-billed Kingfisher
- Mallacoota & Croajingolong National Park, Victoria - You’ll find long, sandy beaches, woodlands, and heaths supporting a wide range of birds, including species that are relatively rare. Glossy Black Cockatoo, Ground Parrot, Southern Emu-Wren, Spotted Quail Thrush, Wonga Pidgeon, white, bellied sea eagles and the large Forest Owl.
- Mitchell Plateau, Western Australia - Featuring numerous gorges, swimming pools, and freshwater plunges, some of the more interesting birds in the area include the following; Black Grasswren, Gouldian Finch, Kimberly Honeyeater, Partridge & White-quilled rock Pidgeon, Red-tailed Black Cockatoo
- Kaikoura - The coastal town has the advantage of being close to the continental shelf which means that a wide variety of birds are present in the region. Albatross: Black-browed bullers, royal, salvins, and shy, Cape pigeon, Fairy prion, Giant petrels, Westland black petrels
- Miranda Shorebird Centre - The prize attraction is the Wrybill, but also home to Eastern-bar tailed godwit, Pied oystercatchers, Red-necked stint, Turnstone, White herons or kotuku
- Muriwai Gannet Colony - A windswept beach which consists of black sand, making for a striking setting. See the gannets in their natural habitat. In addition to the gannets, the beach is also home to white-fronted terns and blue penguins.
- Stewart Island - The island is sparsely habituated by humans, so many different bird species call this area home. This includes the famous kiwi bird which outnumbers the local population of human by 50 to 1 as well as Kaka, Penguins: blue, yellow-eyed, and Fjordland crested Seabirds.
- Tiritiri Matangi Island - A 220-hectare island, just over half consists of forests while the rest is grasslands, providing a diverse environment for many rare bird species, including the flightless takahe and the tuatara.
